Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen raspberries preferably fresh or frozen at peak ripeness
  • 2 tablespoons sugar syrup adjust sweetness to taste
  • 1/2 cup sparkling soda chilled for extra refreshment
  • a few drops blue food coloring start with a few drops and add more if needed
  • 1 cup ice cubes for chilling and thickening

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons

Method

  1. Add the frozen raspberries, sugar syrup, and ice cubes into the blender. Turn on the blender and blend until the mixture is thick, smooth, and frosty, with a vibrant red-purple hue and icy texture.
  2. Gradually pour in the chilled sparkling soda while blending gently, just enough to incorporate the bubbles and loosen the mixture slightly. This creates a lively, effervescent texture.
  3. Add a few drops of blue food coloring to the mixture. Blend briefly to evenly distribute the color, resulting in an electric blue shade that’s bright and inviting.
  4. Stop the blender and check the consistency. The mixture should be smooth, icy, and scoopable. If it’s too thin, add a few more frozen berries and blend again until thickened.
  5. Pour the vibrant blue slushie into chilled glasses. The mixture should mound slightly with a frosty appearance and glisten in the light.
  6. Garnish with a small sprig of mint or a slice of lemon for an extra pop of color and aroma. Serve immediately with a straw for the best icy, refreshing experience.

Notes

Ensure to have your ingredients properly chilled and your blender powerful enough to crush the ice finely for the perfect slushie texture.
