  • 1 cup frozen blueberries pre-frozen for best texture
  • 4 fresh basil leaves basil use gentle heat or fresh leaves to avoid overpowering
  • 1 tsp citrus zest lemon or lime works well
  • 1 tbsp honey optional, for added sweetness
  • 1 cup sparkling water add just before serving for a fizz

Method
 

  1. Add the frozen blueberries, basil leaves, lemon zest, and honey into the blender.

  2. Blend on high until the mixture is smooth, thick, and frosty, with no large berry pieces remaining. You should see a vibrant purple-blue color and a slightly icy texture.
  3. Pour the blended mixture evenly into two tall glasses, filling them about three-quarters full.
  4. Just before serving, gently stir the sparkling water into each glass to add lively bubbles and a sparkling effect.

Notes

For an extra zing, add a splash of fresh lemon juice before blending. To make it more alcohol-friendly, include a splash of vodka or gin. Always add sparkling water at the last moment to keep the fizz lively.
